In case you were curious - my holiday table

Here it is, some of the highlights of my holiday. I'm a bit proud of my Yule cake - it was dark chocolate with extra cocoa added and some coffee for the liquid portion of the batter, two layer. I made the frosting, a form of buttercream, and I did a better frosting job than usual.
The pistachios were a gift from my folks, and well enjoyed. The bowl they are in is a Happy Neko bowl. That pattern is popular in Tokyo and I have two. I love them. So cheerful!
The cookies were mentioned in my post about the holiday party. The peppers were found in a big bowl in the break room at work, someone had grown too many!
The apple is a kind I hadn't tried yet, called a Tsunami apple - some kind of hybrid, it was tart, juicy and sweet. A good fruit.
I think they all make for some nice holiday colors.

They kind of look like a bigger version of a Fuji.
