does smart phones drain your energy?

Do you ever notice when people are on there smart phone not talking
to some but maybe texting or doing work on the phone like I do.
yes some of use do are blogging on the phone. For me it does seem like it drain energy .If you remember the old saying my grandma use to yell do not sit to close to the TV it will hurt your eyes and this TV was then a black and white TV . Now are phones are a TV to sort of but with more information for us to do on. This why I think the phone might be draining energy. To bad the energy it draw from are body can not charge the phone up.lol What do think?
