Natural Beauty Products?

I just read someone's blog and they claim that the body absorbs 60% of whatever we put on it in terms of beauty products like creams and make-up. I was quite shocked to know this if indeed it is actually true. It made me really reconsider what kind of products I'm using as the ingredients of my beauty items are full of chemicals. Are there any brands that make natural products out there?

I have never actually heard of this brand before but I just searched for it and there are some products available in my country. I will have a look at them, thank you.

As much as possible I keep it simple. I like coconut oil, for instance. And cider vinegar. When I have used up product that I have on hand I may be making some of the things I use. Like shampoo. Brands in the US are things like Burt's Bees and some direct marketing products. A commercial product I use is a lotion called Corn Husker's. Its main ingredient is glycerine. It seems to heal my sores, etc. Make up that is a mineral base is considered to be better for the skin. I am more concerned about things like laundry products.

I like Burt's Bees and we get that brand here in the UK too. Good point about the laundry products - it is actually quite astonishing to think of all the things we are exposed to every day.

I didnt know about that - wow. I dont really know of any products. I agree with you that uou must watch out for those "natural" products '- no one regulated what that means. But what about Certified Organic products? Or USDA Certified. Not surebif that is just a US thing.

I definitely would like to find some certified organic products now that I have discovered this information. I have heard of this in the UK too.

That's true, I had never really thought about that before! But I would say body shop and simple are good ones, making your own is always a good way of knowing exactly what is in them.
