Before you decide to love someone else... Why don't you love yourself first?

Today I was in line at the supermarket, and I could not help but hear the conversation between two girls who were right in front of me. The subject was "he doesn't love me anymore".
One of the girls said to another: "But how can he break up with me? I've always liked him so much... I've always done so much for both of us..." and bla, bla, bla.
I was so eager to get the girl by the shoulders and ask: "Are you listening to what you're talking about? It's bullshit!"
This "alert" is true for woman and for us, men. Self-love must always be the most important thing in our lives! Always!

@TheInvisibleMan, time and life has a way of teaching most of us what is important. Sometimes women not all, have to learn to value what they have before someone else will value them. Life is a journey not a destination, and we all learn at different rates. It sounds like you have learn to value yourself and not rely to heavily on people.

Very true! The problem is that we are bombarded with propaganda from the time we are born by the media, fairy tales, even our parents and most especially our peers. You're nobody till somebody loves you, you're not complete without a man/woman in your life, you will never be happy alone, etc. Everywhere we look, there's that damned self-destructive message!!
My DIL, son, and I are trying to raise my granddaughter differently than that.

I agree with you, young girls haven't a clue what love is all about.

It's true often times especially with young people they talk about love and loving someone but really have no clue what love really is.
