Home Alone

I can’t remember the last time I was here all alone. Someone has always been here while I was home. Joe has gone to pull someone out of a ditch and there in nobody here but me. It has also been a long time since I have been in complete silence. It feels very eerie. When I am away from home my mind will sometimes race with projects I need to tend to here but now they seem so overwhelming that I do not want to do any of it. I wonder if I will feel the same way when I retire.

We've retired and slipped into it easily. We did have a lot of projects that we wanted to do so maybe that helped us not feel too bereft about not working.

Alone time can be nice once you learn to embrace it. I lived alone for quite a few years and at first I didn't like it much but after awhile I rather enjoyed it.

I sometimes have to write them all down, take an easier to complete one, and divide it up into smaller bits that are even easier to complete and work on those

I'm retired and am busier now than I was when I was teaching. I honestly don't know how I found the time to work!
