Really Overweight!

Well I just weighed myself and I am so disappointed with the results. Unfortunately, unlike my visit in the summer to my family in Philadelphia I did not lose weight, but gained a ton of it. I weigh more than my highest weight while pregnant by like 3.5 pounds. I feel like crying, but I know I have no one to blame but myself for getting lazy and not watching what I eat.
I refuse to keep letting myself get any worse. I will push myself to do my exercise and to watch what I eat regardless of my mood and energy level. This has gotten too far out of hand and the only one who can do anything about is me. Thank you for letting me get this out of my head. I feel more accountable when I let all of you know, if that makes any sense.
Have you been working to get yourself into better shape? What was the breaking point that lead to you wanting to make a big change like this in your life? Do you feel like it has gotten easier over time to do the right thing?

I think I am going to aim to walk at least 5 miles a week for now and gradually increase it. I am afraid of walking right now though because we got snow and some roads are icy and I don't have any shoes with good traction

We are here to support you in any way that we can. Once you set your mind to it you can do anything you want. Just take one day at a time and make the necessary changes. Once you start seeing results you will be motivated to keep going. You got this!!!

Your not alone on this one. My doctor even told me I was over weigh but it didn't seem like it. Did you know it's hard to notice your own weight before someone else do?

I do a lot of walking. That'll help ward off accumulation of fat. Once a week, I do 24-hour dry fasting too.

It's never really easy to not over-eat for most of us. Something that works for me (when I listen) is to really pay attention to how I feel while I'm eating.
I ask myself do I really still feel hungry or do I just want to keep eating because it tasts good. When I feel full, I try to quit eating right then. But it's still not easy.

I suppose I just suddenly realised that I had a choice as to what I ate which sounds crazy but I can make a decision to eat a lot or a little, have a piece of fruit rather than a muffin and it's my decision. Eat slightly smaller serves and keep making them smaller as you get used to less food, chew slowly so you don't have time for seconds and have a tiny bit of the things you crave. It will satisfy the craving and stop you bingeing later. Good luck.
