I hate being wide awake at night and tired in the morning

Seems whenever it is time to go to bed I am wide awake. I don't feel tired at all. Yet when it is time to get out of bed at 6:30am I am so tired that i wish I could stay in bed. All day at work I am thinking how I am going good to go to bed early because I am so exhausted but it never happens.
It is midnight here now and my fiance is snoring away having an awesome sleep. The cats even snoring..lol If only I could sleep like them.
Anyway I am going to give to sign out, shut it down and give it a try. Time to stare at the ceiling for a few hours, eventually sleep will come.
Good night for now...

@Happy2BeMe 3 hours is not enough. I pray you will be able to sleep like you should. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have my medications to help me get to sleep.

Thank you..I got about 3 hours sleep. Once I finally fell asleep I slept until 5 minutes before my alarm was set to go off.

I know how you feel. It's miserable not being able to sleep. Fibromyalgia keeps me from sleeping well, but sometimes my over the counter med helps and sometimes it doesn't. Hope you get a long, peaceful night's rest.

It would be hard to sleep if you are in pain. My is usually my mind doing lots of thinking when I lay down to sleep.

Using a laptop, tablet or mobile phone immediately before bed isn't conducive to sleep. The frequency of the blue light from the screens plays havoc with your melatonin production. Melatonin is the hormone that regulates your sleep patterns.
Try not using these devices for a couple of hours before you try to get to sleep.

@cacay1 I find it very easy to sleep, no matter what the situation. I'm also very good at waking up and being fully alert immediately after hearing any noises through the night and then going immediately back to sleep once I'm satisfied it wasn't a burglar.

It usually doesn't bother me but it would be a good habit to get into, it may help.

Oh yes! I have that same feeling & regret that I didn't sleep earlier when I wake up. I hope you get some sleep soon before you need to get out of bed.
Good night =)

Some days my insomnia attacks. I am wide awake throughout the night. I take clonazepam to help me relax and drift to sleep easily. Now I just relax and get to sleep with little struggle. I wake up in the morning feeling refresh

@averygirl72 No it is something else. I don't remember the name but melatonin is sold here too. I just never tried it.

I have taken over the counter meds to sleep but it makes me feel drowsy through the morning.

I used to stay up a lot but I've managed to sleep earlier and wake up earlier. It makes me more productive starting the day early and I don't feel as tired, either. Have a good sleep!

I have that exact same problem, I am practically falling asleep at the computer, but when I go to bed I will have all my best ideas ever!

That is exactly what it is. That is when the brain is most active.

I tend to go in cycles There are times when I can just lay down, go to sleep and wake up rested and ready for the day. Other times, I am tired right up until the time that my head hits the pillow, and then I am wide awake. When I finally get to sleep, I toss and turn all night and wake up just as tired (if not more so) than before I went to bed. Right now, I am in the latter pattern, and coughee is my bestest friend ever!

@Happy2BeMe I have started drinking tea right before bed, and that seems to be helping me to get to sleep.

I never seem to fall asleep as early as I'd like. I'll feel exhausted, but when I lay down in bed, sleep takes its time in arriving. In the morning, it takes me a while to get going. I tried not drinking coffee for a few months, but it didn't help.

@Happy2BeMe I am drinking coffee again. I enjoy the flavor and aroma, as well as the kick from the caffeine.

I hate being awake when all I want is sleep too and waking up tired is the worst as well. It makes it hard to start my day. I am going to have to push through that now though.

Aren't you lucky, I have never been that way. I am a very light sleeper or I rarely stay asleep for more then a few hours.
