As the years roll on, every country every state has few events which are ,for a period of time,hard to forget.
As for India (my Country)
The three events that happened in 2016 which I wont forget are as follows:
1) 3 Women from India bragged 3 medals in Rio Olympics 2016
2) Reliance Jio Sim card gave free calling and internet all over India.
3) Demonetization of 500 and 1000 notes.
Same way there must be events from every Country , from every state, that would be hard to forget for a long time...
What are they?

My country for some bizarre reason left the European union, I don't know why but this is the majority voted!

Yeah leaving the EU was the choice of yoir people right....as it was done through a public referendum...

Our government changed hands for the worse. And it was a popular choice.Immediately all taxes raised.

The first one was a honor for India , the second one was a big celebration for India ( especially for the teens ) andmost importantly the third one was a major shock to the Indians ( especially for the corrupted ones). We got sufferings but that one decision definitely made a big change in India.
and finally hats off to our honorable PM for this shocking but an important step.
