We are at midpoint in my Favorite "Fly" Songs series, and #5 is the biggest legend in the countdown: "Come Fly with Me" by Frank Sinatra. In a career that lasted six decades, Frank Sinatra never learned how to read music. And yet, the man sold over 150 million records worldwide, owned his own record label (Reprise,) won 11 Grammy Award's (and an Academy Award as well,) was a recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors in 1983, and was bestowed the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1985. And he has three stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. You could say that, yeah, Sinatra was pretty good. The title track for his 1958 #1 album, "Come Fly with Me" was written specifically for Sinatra, and became one of his signature tunes. Oddly, I was unable to find any chart information about the song, but, you might be interested that "Come Fly with Me," as you might expect, has been covered numerous times over the years, notably, by Shirley Horn, James Darren (who performed it on an episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,) Michael Buble, and the Cherry Poppin' Daddies. And, "Come Fly with Me" holds the distinction of being the only song in this particular series that I have on my iPod! (Info verified by Wikipedia)
Come fly with me, let's fly, let's fly away If you can use some exotic booze There's a bar in far Bombay Come fly with me, let's fly, let's fly away Come fly...

You are tapping into your inner Rat Pack cool. Drink in one hand, cig in the other and a hot babe.

@JohnRoberts Dino was great. I loved his voice. I think I read somewhere that he had a sad and lonely life at the finish.

Well, fly me to the moon, I was expecting another Sinatra song instead! Doesn't matter, though, it's hard to go wrong with Frank.

It was basically a coin toss between the two. This one came up heads.

He's a legend, up there with Elvis, Michael Jackson, and The Beatles.

I think so. Definitely one of his best. And that's saying a lot.
