Have We Lost Our Freaking Minds As a Society?

There's a federal case that's causing controversy right now that has a local connection. Apparently a doctor in California took his computer to a Best Buy to get it repaired; and, while at the "Geek Squad" repair center in Kentucky a worker found child porn on the computer and notified the FBI. The doctor (sheesh, hope he isn't a pediatrician!) is facing child porn charges.
And now people are yelling at the Geek Squad for obeying the law.
You see, it is a federal law that any child porn seen on a computer by a repairman must be reported. The use of children as sexual beings is apparently the last thing that will make people in this country upset (given that there are people running around with Charles Manson t-shirts on). But people are crying "foul" over the fact that the Geek Squad tech did exactly what the law requires and got a reward from the FBI.
Have we lost our freaking minds? The guy had child pornography on his computer!! Jared Fogle time, folks! It's against the law to possess it!!! And suddenly someone is making him out to be the "victim" in this.
Given that he's in California he'll probably walk, and the Geek Squad technician will be imprisoned.
God help us.

I am and have been embarrassed to be a native Californian. My Golden State has become so tarnished.

I'm not one bit surprised. He probably will walk and the tech be fined or imprisoned. Everything is upside down, wrong is right and dark is light. We've allowed this to happen and I hope the pendulum swings back the other way soon! For God's sake, we actually have people who defend the right of NAMBLA to exist and are willing to defend it in court!!

Well that certainly boggles the mind. I hope the doc goes to jail for a long long time.

Some people have no clue about people that do horrific things like that doctor. He should be hung by his private areas.

I agree that's terrible. Maybe people are mad that they got a reward for it. And also people don't want to think that doctors could be that sick.
