There is a wall between her and other people, it was not built intentionally but through the years it became a sense of comfort. No matter what they did, they could not touch her soul, but the down side to having a wall between yourself and humanity is you can never fully appreciate the beautiful bond between one soul and another.
There was no escaping it. No matter how many times she tried to change, it always lead back to the same burden. Was this girl really to blame, or was life destined to be this lonely for her?
When push comes to shove, it will be her choice to tear down the wall and reconnect with herself as well as others.
She goes back and forth between her past, present, and future. She's so overwhelmed by every thought that takes her mind a different direction, she just sits...she doesn't get up until she sees an opportunity, but then doubt comes to rip her strength away. She's sitting again. When will she choose to stand and fight for what she deserves?
When you see no hope, you see no reason.
She found a place called home in her past, being afraid of the future is holding her back. The feeling of pain has become a familiar place, a place that she is now afraid to leave, not because she is afraid of happiness but because she is afraid of changing to only have the same results of pain.
There are so many questions that spin around in her head. What if it gets worse? What if everyone hates me? What if I hate myself? The doubt that is buried within her heart is something that only she can dig to surface and replant in a healthier spectrum.
Those, "what if's" are always going to be there. It is better to try and fail, then to fail and never try again. That is the key, no matter what happens, never give up on what you want in your life. Happiness is a foot-step away, but she must gather her strength and swallow her pride to take that first step.
The fear of being alone is only temporary, she will always have support but she must take that first step to realize that fact.
Her feet feel heavy as she starts to stand, time has slowed down and she closes her eyes. The force behind a push of an angel has guided her to a new
She's on the other side now, tempted to look back to yesterday but much bigger and brighter things are awaiting her.
It is too difficult to explain how she moves on from her past, pain, and doubt, but she does it with such radiant beauty that she almost forgets that she's running towards what is good for her.
A new start
A new life
A beautiful beginning to an unhappy ending.
This is where she becomes fully aware of her self-worth, beauty, and so much more. She feels a glimpse of hope for every day that awaits her. She's building herself up to reconnect with others, breaking down that wall one brick at a time.
Recovering from depression is never easy, but she made it happen on her own.
People deserve happiness, and come hell or high water you have to be willing to fight for it even when you don't have the energy to stand.
I really hope you enjoyed our short story. Someone requested we write together, so I had her write it and I edited/added to it a little more. This is the first "official" piece we have written together, we have a ways to grow and build our writing style together but I think this turned out awesome. Thank you for reading!
