I am not allowed to show you the entire dress, and I don't want to, but I can show you a portion of my future daughter-in-law's wedding gown.
The top portion is stunning, but you'll have to wait until after the wedding, on October 6, to see it.
I will look at a gown for myself while in Florida, but will most likely attend the event scheduled at the bridal salon in which this magnificent gown was bought. Otherwise, I will return to the shop where I bought my gown for my older son's wedding. I nixed the idea of a custommade dress, and would never ever buy one online.
I'm getting so excited!!!!

Oh how exciting, my niece got married last March, our last family wedding, but we just learned she is now pregnant and due in August. I can't wait for the new wee one hoping it's a boy. Her brother has 4 girls we so want a boy, but as long as the baby is healthy we will be happy.

@DianneN Yes boys and girls bring such different thing to the table. I love my great nieces very much but would still love a boy in the family. My sons are not even close to getting married and having kids.

@fishtiger58 I grew up with two brothers, my husband had two brothers, and we had two sons. We were overjoyed when my granddaughter was born. However, my DIL's side of the family was mostly girls, so they were overjoyed when my grandson was born. Gotta keep the families happy! Your son's are still young. Your time will come, too!

@DianneN I'm sure that's true. I've not had the opportunity. I didn't even have a wedding for myself.. we eloped as our families were getting on our last nerves at the time!

@Drosophila Perhaps I will when I create a discussion. I only have one partial photo of it down here. The rest are home.

@DianneN My boyfriend and I broke up right before his last birthday. Anytime I've ever offered to take him out for dinner on his birthday he never wanted to so I figure his birthday without me in it would pretty much be the same kind of day anyway.

In our country, it is bad luck for the bride to see and fit the actual wedding gown before the wedding. Anyway, the excitement is understandable.

@DianneN same custom here that the groom isn't allowed to see his bride until the day of the wedding.
Apologies, I got it mixed up, here in the Philippines, the bride isn't allowed to try on her wedding gown until the day of the wedding. I'm unsure how brides actually fit their gowns. I'm clueless.

I wasn't aware of your custom. The groom isn't allowed to see the gown until the day of the wedding here. If she had to wait until the day of her wedding to see the gown and get fitted, the guests would have a good six months of waiting. Lol!
How does the bride choose her gown and get fitted so quickly on the day of her wedding in your country?

@DianneN Good to hear that. Today's generation I see prefers to do their own thing.

You will need to curb your excitement. You still have 9 months before said event takes place. I know that will be extremely hard for you to do. But it needs to be done.
Now I'm eager to see the rest of this stunning dress. I will just need to think of other things for 9 months. I hope you give us a full view of your dress when you get it.

I'm not one to curb my excitement. Every day I tell my husband how excited I am about the wedding. It's been a long time coming and will be over before I know it. I am nervous about looking for a dress for myself. I'll show it to you in a Facebook message.

@DianneN Yes and all of us were very anxious because the accessories of the gown arrived just a day before the wedding as typhoons came one after the other. The gown of the older sister who was the maid of honor also arrived a day before the wedding. The wedding coordinator had to get mad at the couturier for the gown to reach us on time.

You still have some time to go before the wedding, hoping you can wait that long, looking lovely from what you have shown.

@BelleStarr Mine was basically green raw silk, which changed shades to yellow and purple depending on the light. The dress was sewn in strips of varying width. Too bad I can't wear it again. Lol!
