@Sherlock221B (Holmes) "The Lying Detective"-Episode - Semi-Spoilers & Speculation

Firstly, I'm not SPOILER-ing the main plot ... much ... http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b088ppll in which Sherlock probably dies (or not) to do something clever (or not). No, what I'm SPOILER-ing is something Sherlock & Watson & Mycroft (Sherlock's brother who's a government-agent) have been sort-of hinting-at ... they call it "the third Holmes-brother. I suspect that the third Holmes is actually John Watson---on account of ... well, Watson actually meets the third Holmes; but Watson had been 'seeing' his wife Mary (who probably died an episode-before), so who knows whether he actually "met" the third Holmes (especially in the midst of dealing-with ... all the tumultuous events of the Holmes 'dysfunction' Have you seen it? Know what's going on? Think something similar?

It won't be Watson, and in fact the episode reveals who the third sibling is right at the end with watson as the first to meet the character directly on screen, to be resolved further in the series finale airing tomorrow. The books make no mention of another Holmes brother other than Mycroft but Doyle did mention the name Sherrington Holmes in his notes, initially as Sherlock's first name and later as a possible even smarter brother than Mycroft

yes, Watson did meet 'the third brother'; but Watson also 'met' his recently-murdered wife

@mythociate only in his own troubled imagination - the third sibling identity is now fully understood though I wish it wasn't as it was a garbage episode to end the series with

@arthurchappell I have it DVR`d. Should I just skip it & use the space to record 'something better' (maybe the next episode of Emerald City?)?
