Earnings come from received interaction. To receive interaction you need to write posts people are interested in. Also, you don't even have to post your own discussions to earn. You can respond or comment to other peoples discussions and if those responses/comments receive interaction you'll earn.

You will find both under "Help" in the menu beneath your username at top left. Think of a discussion as like a conversation. The Guidelines should help you decide what works and what does not. You can earn from the comments and likes from your discussions as to what I have understood here. Just join every discussion in mylot and you can earn.
