something called discussing "people"

recently I've come in the company of people who cannot give up back biting. Funny part is that everyone of them talks about every other person whenever they get a chance. so every one gets talked about and discussed in negative light no matter what. I know i might too have been part of a lot many discussions, but as i mentioned earlier, I have heard them talking about every person in the group..so u know its not much of a serious thing to be criticized behind your back. Initially I used to find it hard listening to all the exaggerated negative things about people whom they treat so well on the face and call them friends. I pointed out, but it was of no use. i do not know what do they get out of it.may be just to take out the frustration or just the feeling of their insecurity and mostly because they interpret every deed by others as bad because of their own negative thinking. For me it gets funny to listen them talk about whoever is missing at that time and a slight negativity in their behavior towards you shows that you have been talked about and then you need to clear things.. it has actually become a fun game for me...
