Tattoo Discrimination

Do you think jobs should discriminate against people with tattoos? Should t be on what the content of the tattoo is? Should t be on placement or should people just get over the fact it is becoming a phenomenon that can not be contained.

No but it could depend on the type of job position. If a person is covered in biker tats that may not go down well at some places. But tats have become common and not a reflection of a person's ability.

Should be determined on if the tattoo has like racial meaning or something along those lines

Now a days people still discriminate others with tattoos. Especially when it comes to jobs. Here where i live there is still a little set back and people are a bit closed minded about tattoos. I dont think tattoos should define if you stay with a job or not. If you can present yourself well enough and have excellent skills than why shouldnt you have the job? Because of some art you have on your skin? There are some jobs that is more strict like banking and such but it isnt something that should keep you from living your dream. Then you end up being torn between things you love. I for one have tattoos but they are strategically placed for people not to see them while working. I did them a couple of years ago this way because of job searching. I also have facial piercings that doesnt help. However, thankfully i found a job where they applause your work and tattoos or piercings dont change that. For example when i started here i only have one labret piercing. Now i have snake bites (on both sides of my lower lips) and they dont judge me for that. If i decide to get another tattoo i do not have to worry about where to put it. It all depends on those that are hiring. I also have to be extra nice to compensate my looks and that is what make people forget that i have any kind of body modification.

I believe self expression shouldn't affect my ability to be hired.
