@Kenyangirl Since you are on the Internet, you have the world at your fingertips. I understand that if you have knowledge and skill in a certain area, you can do well with a niche blog. I also write and the opportunities are not always there. It helps to friend other writers and people in general. I got a writing job for a few months because I wrote on a chat forum that is no longer there. The job is gone too but it was glorious while it lasted.
