Ever tried to sleep near a singing person?

Yesterday my uncle and his family came to our house for a night stay. I was sleeping near him. I was about to doze when his snores began, like a loud continuous singing. Well this may sound funny but snores are the thing that disturbs sleep (others sleep). The whole night i did not sleep well. Sometimes I also got up at night frightened, all because of my uncle. Have you ever dared to sleep near a person who snores a lot. If yes, then please share with me also.
