~Here We Go Again~

Jailynn At The Hospital

Here we go again is what I say every time something happens around here. Last night we decided to go to the laundromat so we would have clean clothes for church this morning. Our youngest daughter was coming towards the van with my husband, her shoe was untied-no one knew it and my husband accidentally stepped on it. Our daughter fell off the curb and landed on her knee. She hit really hard, there was instant swelling and she couldn't walk on it. Off to the hospital for x-rays we went. Thank God it is not broke. She had a lot of bruising and she's going to be sore the next couple days so right now she is on crutches they gave her last night. It is never boring around here I swear! If anyone needs some excitement I will switch some days with you for a bit. The picture is of Jailynn last night in the ER.

I'm glad she is okay, or at least will be soon. My son also injured his knee this past week, he went to a new indoor trampoline center that just opened, and when he was bouncing around on one of the trampolines, he landed wrong and hurt his knee. Thankfully, it was just a knee sprain, but he has to wear a brace for a couple of weeks while it heals.

@moffittjc Thank you. Oh no, I hope your son will be okay soon too. =( Kids are good at getting hurt that's for sure.

@moffittjc Yeah sports are an easy way to get hurt. I know I broke my wrist at 16 from doing gymnastics. So dangerous.

@LovingMyBabies And I always worry about my kids getting seriously hurt....especially my son, since he and I are so active in sports and outdoor activities.

Shoe laces are always the first thing I notice about my kids.. although I don't tend to notice sometimes that they're wearing the same clothes 2 days in a row, LOL.. We have thankfully never had any broken bones.. but my oldest needed stitches 5 times, and he dislocated his knee cap while playing baseball.. ended up needing surgery to repair the tendons, and the night before his surgery he fell down the stairs and bent the same leg backwards..

@LovingMyBabies Check all of the shoes for round shoe strings. Round shoe strings do not stay tied. I go so far as to buy new shoe strings as soon as I get them. Poor kid.

@LovingMyBabies Maybe just try getting new laces? My 10 year old seems to have the same problem..

@katsmeow22315 I'm throwing her shoes in the trash because their one of those pairs that NEVER stay tied even after double knotting them!

@LovingMyBabies Lol. I can understand liking the attention a little. That's kind of normal. I'm glad she's alright.

Poor Jailynn, I hope that her knee feels better soon. Maybe some rest and ice will help that process along.

I don't know how many times a day at school, I remind someone to tie their shoes. I have seen laces get stepped on and kids fall down, but not one seriously hurt. I am glad your daughter is okay. I am sure she is sore though.

@paigea Oh I know! I am constantly telling my kids to tie their shoes as well. Do they listen? Nope! Then this happens, would have been much easier to tie her shoes! Thank you, I am very grateful it wasn't any worse too.
