Hello freelancers! So I am trying to sign up for free websites where they hire freelancers for editing, proofreading, typing, etc. However, I was wondering if anyone had experience on how to build your profile. Also, if anyone knows of any other sites besides upwards where you can do these types of jobs. Thank you and have a great day!

Zemandi is a site I right for from time to time. They only pay 50 cents per 100 words. So, that is very low pay. Whenever I sign in they have assignments.

I've been a member of Upwork for six months and have made a lot of money there. I've know one other person here who works for the same site and one other who have joined. I'll be happy to answer your questions. I know there's Fifer also. But I never been there. There's Hub Pages (and their niche sites) as well for writing and sharing content on various subjects.

I created a profile and I am interested in doing some work on there. I submitted proposals but not sure how to get myself noticed. Whats the best way? How do i get someone to hire me without being hired prior?

Good luck with it. I don't do freelance.

Textbroker and Fiverr are two others. Also PeoplePerHour if that is available outside the UK. I have been on Upwork for nearly a year but have never seen anything offering a remotely attractive rate. I know of other people who seem to very well on there, though.

Been there for almost 2 years. It's a good paying, freelance site. I work on law-related projects. Clients on Upwork (based on my experience) pay well.

You can choose to do one or two job posts for very little or no money just to get feedback from employers and start building your portfolio.

Good question. I have an account there but never do anything.
