the current political climate in the USA scares me

I'm worried that political polarization has advanced to the point that the ability to have respectful discussion across the spectrum of opinion. Someone was shoot at conservative writer Milo Yiannopolous' lecture in Seattle. The country is split down the middle by the election results, and a significant portion of the protest movement rejects the election's legitimacy. I fear that the political fringes will increasingly embrace extremism. I hope that we are not entering a dark period.

With his Orangeness as Prez, we are in a dark period. He and his agenda are extremist and the majority of voters did not elect him. We will not make it easy for the GOP to trample on rights, starting with their intent to abolish the ACA with no alternative plan, leaving 20 million or so Americans uninsured. That is pretty "dark."
