What's wrong with a bit of television?

My child enjoys watching a bit of television now and then. She watches age appropriate content and seems to actually be learning alot. So, when many mothers turn around and tell me that the t.v. isn't good for your child , I wonder why? I could give every mom a list of good shows that your child could watch, enjoy and subconsciously learn from. I watch a ton of the tele when I was a child and honestly, have nothing against a bit of age appropriate tele time for kids. In fact I feel it helps them calm down and relax whenever they have a had a packed day , which is basically every day.

There is nothing wrong with a kid watching TV as long as they are not stuck in front of it all day long. I think it is great that there are so many shows that they can learn from and ones to relax to when it is time to unwind.

I think there are many good television shows for children. My daughter watched Sesame Street, Wheel Of Fortune, Reading Rainbow, Blues Clues, and several game shows. This helped her learn new words and it was fun watching them with her.

It is helpful. My daughter actually started to think a bit out of the box from seeing blues clues, mickey mouse clubhouse etc I feel she now thinks for herself and can solve her little problems on her own and also just basically think about different things.

Television is good for children. It used to be my helper as my Son was Asthmatic before and he was able to calm down seeing ChildrenĀ“s programs that were on at that time.
So a bit of Tele never did any harm.
