Man that was quick!

During our trip to Costco on Friday, we ordered a pair of glasses for my oldest daughter(she's 11). They said they would call in a week, when they were ready for pick up. Well, today around lunchtime, I was quick surprised to get a call saying they were ready. After I picked the girls up from school, we made our way out there and picked them up. She loves them, and I am pleased as well. Now I need to submit the claim to our insuance so I can get reimbursed.

I have a prescription for new glasses. I will probably go to Costco, at least I am considering it.

We originally went to Pearle Vision to price them out. The pair we chose, with lenses and everything, came to just over $300. Our insurance only covers up to $200. At Costco, the frames she chose with the lenses, totaled $150. I will only end up out of pocket about $25. I just wish Costco was closer. The drive there alone was about 45 minutes.

@snowy22315 I live in a small town that doesn't even have Walmart.

Oh that irks me that you have to submit a claim for reimbursement. Wish that all you had to do was pick them up and your insurance pays. There is not one place in our town that accepts the vision insurance that my husband carries through his work. So, in order to get glasses and the exam covered, we drive to another state to get the services that I need. I am glad that your daughter loves her glasses! That is fast! I have always had to wait at least 2 weeks for any glasses I had ordered.

@Morethanamom I have purchased glasses from zennioptical.com and had great results with them. The glasses were very reasonable too. This way I can use my insurance for one pair and buy another pair to have as a spare.

There are a few places that will direct bill the insurance, but the one I check, the glasses she picked were twice what we paid, so I would have been out of pocket over $100. This way I am only out the deductible and 5%, which amounted to about $25, and still have about $75 left of coverage incase something happens.

Wow! That is amazing! It is way better than waiting so long for glasses. I know that pain first hand. America's best...cheap but sometimes really poor at their services.

I had looked into them in the past. It probably wouldn't be that great of a deal for me, due to having to cross the border from Canada, and the exchange rate.
