Do you have a piggy bank?
I never had a piggy bank since I was a kid because I heard from my mother that it's not a good practice. Well, that's just a superstitious belief.
I had read on Facebook last December about the success of people who had done the 52-week money challenge and I also want to start my own. It is a weekly savings from week 1 up to week 52 and it would depend on how much money you want to start with and it would increase by that amount up to the last week.
And since others are doing it from the lowest to the highest, what I will did is I started from the highest (520) so that on the 52nd week, I just need to save 10 pesos.
There are templates online and if you want to start your own, I think it is not yet too late. You can choose increments of 1, 2, 5 or 10, or 20, or 100. It is up to you. But if you have other methods, that is also good.
I hope I can complete this money challenge and I am hoping to save a total of Php13,780 with this method.

i dared my son when he was in his elementary years, to save a peso from his daily allowance. when the school year ends, he is surprised because his bamboo bank was heavy. eventually, he crushed the bamboo and bought for himself his toy.

Wow! Hmmmm I only kept my extra money before in my wallet and after a few months, I had a thick wallet with moldy ten peso bills. LOL
So I just gave it to my mother, "pamalengke". Ahahahahaha

I keep a big gallon of water inside my room. It contains just coins.

I've been doing regular saving to a piggy bank for a few years now... One year I put just whatever change I could find daily, then I did a dollar a day, and for the last couple of years I've been doing $5 a day... Good luck with your method and Happy Saving!

Wow! That is also a great plan... Yes, we can have our own method too and see what works out best for us. The point is, we have saved something. Thank you!

I actually need to see these kind of plans to try and save up. The problem is that for it to work it has to be a plan that i will be commited to so i need to find the perfect one to be able to reach my goals.
Even if it isnt the 52 week challenge i am pretty sure there are various strategies out there i could find that suits me best.

I do not have a piggy bank, I use my PayPal account to accumulate money. I keep all myLot earnings there, much better than putting coins in a Piggy Bank. The last time I did I was very young and the piggy bank was stolen from our home a few years later. I will no more keep money in the house.

Oh yes, I think keeping it in PayPal is better.

I could not do it now because I do not have a steady income.

Me too, that is why I just settled with the 10 increments per week... Oops, I mean, decrements? Hihihi Not sure, but I started with the highest...
