When you post on social media ,you can either post the truth and be ready to open the doors of your thoughts to the scrutiny of strangers or you can take the path of confabulation. It all depends on whether you can take criticisms (some of them may be quite absurd) or not.
First situation-
When you form your views on any particular matter (it may be right or wrong) , there is no one to question you.You feel quite confident in your line of thought .But suppose you have posted a particular line of thought and you get responses contrary to your view ,then what?
Do you wage a war inside your mind where you play both the prosecution and the defence.
Or you concede that indeed you were on the wrong side?
The second situation-You do not wish to be dissected but still want to remain active in social media . So ,your post is a work of fiction ;suppose you dont share those views but need to stand out from the average crowd, what will you do ? You can borrow ideas from others and present them as your own and garner praises or you can cook up a believable story. The second option requires some hardwork and creativity on the part of the writer and so is commendable to some extent.
But, even then, is it right to present some unrealistic story as your own ?This however eliminates the earlier problem of internal conflict( unless others realise that your post is fake ).
The view isnt yours to be dissected, and so you are free from the arising conflicts of ideas. You may take relief from the fact that you have made a fool of others and if you are successful you can continue doing the same.
So which would you prefer- laying your real thoughts before others or presenting another's idea as yours .
