My 8 year old grandson has a classmate who is very naughty and used to bully his classmates and hit them with out any reason. I am trying to convince my grandson to understand him and be compassionate enough for the boy, because their might be a problem in the home. I tried to talk to the boy and ask why he always bully and hit his classmates, but he became so defensive. I tried to ask the teacher what is going on with the family and she said that they don't have a father and the mother comes home late. I tried to understand the situation of the child but I was approach by the teacher and told that the parents are writing a petition to transfer the boy to another school because he is dangerous to his classmates. The teacher ask me if I will sign or not. What will I do? I pity the child but I am also thinking about the welfare of the classmates. Help!!

Aww! It sounds like he feels unloved, and maybe even alone without his dad around. I bet he has been bullying the other kids because he is jealous because their fathers are in their lives, but his father is not. I bet if a male teacher or older male friend mentored him, his behavior would change.
