Why most profiles in mylot are virtual?

I noticed that many or rather most profiles have representative pictures, pseudo names, fun names instead of real identities or real pictures? Just noticed this... But why is that? Why are people hiding behind a veil of pseudo names and pictures?

I think it's just a security thing. You never know what kind of people are on a site. Most people are great and won't do anything to you, but there's that one person.

There are cases where photos have been stolen and used on someone else's sites. Catfish use your photo to pretend to be you and set up a scam of some sort. There are other reasons better not to go into.

Point there! I have changed my picture too...I guess online exposure needs to be curtailed as much as we could do..no one knows when and where original identity could be misused...Thanks for your inputs! But how do I change my real name that is marked below my ID (buddy) @aseemchandna...any idea?

@aseemchandna I have tried to change my photo but it did not work. I will try again. I am not sure if you can change your user name.

My name is not hidden at all and my picture is me. It was taken on a really sunny day so it came out very yellow

That's my real name in myLot. I have removed my photo because it didn't look good enough.

im of the belief that you only your real info for business reasons and an alias for all else. its come in handy, especially when employers are searching for anything under your real name on social media sites.
