When sugar tastes bitter!

A Polish writer, poet, and satirist of 1906-1966 in his wisdom quoted that “I give you bitter pills in Sugar coating. The pills are harmless; the poison is in the Sugar.” Having a sweet tooth, it made me ponder on this, as our busy lifestyle is thrusting an unhealthy pattern of eating habits on us in our day to day life, devastating effects on the human body are becoming inevitable. There is a high level of sugar consumption among people in Western countries like the US and now fast spreading in other countries. The effects on human body being devastating. High Fructose corn syrup is being used in beverages, processed foods, cereals, and baked goods soft drinks mostly. HFCS is a sweetener processed from corn starch while granulated sugar is made from sugarcane and beet sugar. HFCS is preferred over granulated sugar and is widely used as it is easy to handle and less expensive. Industrial users looking for cheaper replacements are rapidly adopted HFCS. Unlike sugar, you’ll never see HFCS on the supermarket shelves. It’s only available to food processors. High intake of HFCS can lead to Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, dementia, macular, the normal tooth decay etc., It does not mean that all processed foods are bad, but one should certainly be aware that many contain sweeteners, including HFCS which are also called added sugars. These sweeteners are empty calories and are less healthy normal table sugar or granulated sugar which has glucose and fructose in equal quantities while HFCS has more of fructose percentage than glucose which is not good for the liver.

The problem is that the body doesn't know how to process those "fake sugars," so it has to deal with them like poisons. Plus, you've got that taste of sugar, but your body hasn't registered the usual reaction to sugar, so you get even more cravings.
