Things that prevent sound sleep are staying online or watching television or other screen time too late. The "blue light" stimulates you to be awake. People will take melatonin, and it is helpful to reset the body clock, like when you have travel lag or daylight savings time change. I have seen it suggested that a magnesium supplement before bed helps. For allergies try a spray like flonase or nasonex or store brands. You may also have sleep apnea and that will cause horrible anxiety and stress. Herbal teas are great, provided you are not allergic to the herbs in them. Start slowly. Also a hot or warm bath in Epsom salts, or at least soak your feet in a tub of epsom salts and hot water. Some people find lavender to be soothing or jasmine.

I find sleeping children to be soothing. But I'm with the others: warm milk (the tryptophan in milk is converted by the body into melatonin) and a good book. Or better yet, a boring book (kidding)!

Try drinking some Tea before you go to sleep or warm milk, Warm milk for me I find to be a relaxer. But if you are tired all the time, mention it to your doctor and they can check and see if their is anything causing this that they can help with.

No idea! I'm a mother of 2. Only one lives with me at the moment. I still find it difficult to sleep, never want to get up when the alarm goes off. I try different things. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Even when I get to sleep, I can still spend the whole day being tired and hearing my bed call me from the moment I get up! Reading helps, as does not having a computer or phone screen on too late. I also find that exercise sometimes helps. I think getting up a little earlier might help, too, but I don't want to do that. If you get up earlier, you can have time to yourself, to refresh yourself and have some peace before the children wake up. So you're relaxed and ready for the day.
