City or Suburbs (or Country Life, for some)?

I just thought of this question, after seeing a fellow mylotter's response (Hi Diane! I am so sorry i forgot your mylot handle). I have lived in the city for most of my life. Right now, the husband and I have decided, no more of the city life and let us live a bit far off.
We now live in a quiet, but still near the city, type of area. I have to be honest, at first, I thought I'd miss the buzz of the city. Apparently, I don't. I am fine with where we are right now (except for some major construction boo-boos).
What about you? Which do you prefer and why?

Same! We are kind of in between. I can still go to the city if I want to. It may take me two hours to get there but that's okay. For shopping and other stuff, we do have a few shops close by. So, pretty much everything is still accessible.

@funkeyguhl That's good. Our city isn't huge and is 15 minutes away, but if we want to go to NYC, it's 1 1/2 hours away, give or take, depending on the traffic.

I prefer country living though I live in a city. I yearn for a more peaceful & safer place, free from pollution.

It seems security is a big reason for people to move in the suburbs or country. I guess with progress, the sense of security is often lost? Because of people wanting to move to the place where jobs are available but not for all.

So, you see yourself purchasing a house in the country and living there when you retire?

Beach is a good place too. I am following a family in Instagram that moved to the beach side because I think they love to surf. I guess what you like doing, reflects on where you base yourself. For my husband, he likes staying here because it also allows him to bike around the area since there are a lot of biking trails available for him.
