The sad reality is that we need money for everything. Surely you cannot buy health and happiness, but a lot of money helps.

Money does buy happiness, but upto a certain point. After that the result is the same in our lives, no matter how much money we gain. So the importance of money kind of plateaus out. However killing or cheating over money is criminal, and should be dealt with the strictest hand.

Unless one has the ability to live off the grid and be totally independent then yes, money is essential. You would be hard pressed to find anyone that would be willing to barter etc. You can live without money sure, again that depends just exactly what it is that you want in life. It's quite difficult and trying though. Society has been conditioned to slave away for money as everything is commercialized and the system is designed to making going without it more and more difficult as time progresses. As far as why some people commit criminal activity for it,that varies. Some because they reckon it's easier, others may have been raised in this environment so it's second nature,to violence and criminal activity is virtually the only means available to ensure survival. Some food for thought. What is considered criminal for we the people, our governments do everyday and it's considered the law or just. xx
