Film on the Underground

I have previously touched on the small flourishes added to Tube Stations, mostly overlooked, that give a little taste of local character.
Leicester Square is home to a number of cinemas and UK film premiers are frequently held here. This is reflected at platform level (the Northern Line is shown in the photo) with tiles that portray the punched edges of film, where the sprocket moves the movie along.
Incidentally, this is one of those strange English spelling and Leicester is pronounced as Lester!

It always baffles me when a word isn't pronounced like I think it should be.

I never liked going on the tubebut the stations and history is very interesting

Nice touch. It's been years and years since I was in that Tube station. The Metro stops in Hollywood have film decor themes. One has old film reels on the wall.
