These courses have a high demand but only few people takes them. If you graduated any of these courses you will have a high paying job guaranteed. Why do you think many people avoid these courses despite of the high demand. I mean I notice people rather go for those courses with so many competition. Mortuary Science- A Mortician or an Embalmer have an annual salary ranging from $29,320 to $98,820 . Many people die everyday, So you can imagine how much gigs a Mortician get on a daily basis. I know working with the dead is creepy but it pays a lot of cash. Engineering- Recently many NGO's in the US are trying to convince teenagers to take engineering. It has a high global demand and in the US an engineer have the salary of $67,019 but less people are trying to take this course. I have a cousin who is great at Math and people expect her to take engineering but she decided to take fashion design instead and she is still struggling to get her break because the competition is way too much. Anesthesiologist- You will be considered a doctor if you finished this course and your monthly salary will be $30,875 . The job is so simple, All you need to do is to inject anesthesia to a patient before they will undergo to surgery. Yup you will just inject drugs to a patient and your job is done. It is a very simple and easy job and it pays very high. There is a huge risk though, Your career is in peril or you might get jailed if the patient died or have a complication. Despite of the risk, It is a high paying job but for some reason many people avoid this course. Gynecologist- A woman's body is one of the most complicated biological puzzles in the Medical world that women have their own doctors. the average annual salary of a Gynecologist is $277,08. It is a high paying job because many women have needed help on their reproductive system. One of my neighbors is a Gynecologist and she own an expensive sports car. She told me she loves her job because she is able to help women on their health problems and she gets paid handsomely. Why do you think people avoid these high paying courses?

As for morticians, it's not a career a lot of people know about (or think they could do). If my grandfather hadn't been one, I doubt I would ever think about it. Engineering is much more well-known (STEM becoming a popular acronym probably helped) but I've heard that people are put off by how hard the courses are. I know mechanical engineering will be a completely full course-load every semester for four years, and maybe edge into a fifth. The other two? Sure, they're doctors and are highly paid, but they're also not as glamorous, for lack of a better word. Everybody wants to be a brain surgeon, and doesn't really think about the person doing the anesthetizing.

yeah no child will say being Mortician is their dream. i think Most mosrticians saw it as a last resort to make decent money. I heard most kids who dont like Stem are those who were exposed to celebrities because they secretly dreamed of being a popstar or a movie star instead but we know what happened, they fail on that and ends up with Blue collar careers. Yeah the 2 medical fields I mentioned are also not seen as glamorous as the other field of medicines.

@CaptAlbertWhisker So many people take "easier" courses, then find that they can't find jobs. The real problem is that nobody tells them the truth about what majors are practical. Counselors who are professors of those subjects are especially prone to this.

Mortician job would give me daily nightmares plus cannot stand the smell of formaldehyde, engineering I am a total dunce, Anesthesiologist I would be afraid of sending the patient to the world beyond plus I would still have to go through 4 -5 years of medical school and gynecology too complex to me it is just as well that I can understand what is happening to my own body.

@CaptAlbertWhisker one fascinating career you hadn't mentioned and I think also pays well an expert on forensic medicine with the police but of course most of the cases are brutally murdered or beat up people.

I would avoid them because I would not enjoy doing a job like that. I would rather do a job that I enjoy over one for a lot of money that would be boring.

People should take what they will really enjoy. No reason to take any courses that are not required if these will not help with your employment/career.
