Do you have a "laundry day"?

I always thought it was odd whenever I heard someone say it was laundry day because in my family we always did laundry whenever there was enough laundry for a load! I know many people out there will just have one day where they pretty much do laundry all day but I never understood why. I mean logistically isn't that harder on the machines and overall energy/water bill if you're doing laundry all day? Not too mention it must be physically tiring to fold several loads of laundry all day long... Do you have a day dedicated to laundry or are you like me and my family and just do laundry whenever there's enough dirty laundry for a load?

I dont know the answer to all those questions. I do know with an aerobic septic tank I had a limit of three big things a day. those could be the dishwasher ran, or laundry being washed. I sometimes did laundry during my work week, but normally I'd do it monday my first day off, because I was home to do so. but if I noticed the pile a certain size I might toss it in during the word days

I do laundry when I run out of clean underwear. That is a signal that an emergency situation exists and I need to take extreme action. Such as going to the laundromat.

Every other day seems to be laundry day for me. There is always something that has to get washed. I do my best to spread the days out and atleast wait until the washer is full but I also have a child that is sometimes prone to accidents so still trying to sort that out is tiring enough. I have enlisted my son in folding duty though so that seems to make it a less stressful.

my mom always designated Monday as laundry day. All the beds got fresh sheets etc. I do a load as needed.

I do it when I am inspired to do it and the basket is already filled! Or when the weather is fine so it will dry so well and smelling so good!

Like you, we do our laundry any day when there's enough laundry to be done. Sometimes it's every other and at other times it's daily when there's plenty of laundry to be done.

i don't make a schedule but it has to be done at least twice a week since we have a kid who changes his clothes several times a day.
