Bannon the Banisher

Having heard the recent news of The Exalted Orange One kicking the Director of National Security and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff off the National Security Council, I must ask myself, "What in the world is going on in the White House?"
Then, on the heels of that news, comes the word that Steve Bannon, aka Bannon The Banisher, has been given a permanent seat on the National Security Council. Does BTB even have a valid, legitimate security clearance? Bannon The Banisher, rumored to be a virulent Islamophobe and not-so-secret supporter of the white supremacy movement, was the principal author of the Presidential Directive banning Muslims from seven majority Muslim countries from entering the US.
None of the agencies that should have been involved - Homeland Security, the State Department, the Department of Justice - were consulted before the directive was written and signed. It caught them all by surprise.
On top of that, the Executive Branch then decided it did not have to abide by any of the four (yes, four) federal court rulings against implementing the ban and deportation order.
Is the US headed for a Constitutional Crisis? Almost certainly.
Is The Exalted Orange One trying to consolidate power in the Executive Branch and make Congress and the Courts irrelevant and powerless? It sure looks like it.
Is there a chance of civil war breaking out in the US between The Exalted Orange One's Trumpanistas and the rest of us? Let us pray not.
When you see The Exalted Orange One and Bannon The Banisher do you see echoes of Adolph and Joseph?
Does the news coming out of Washington and the White House make you nervous?

Even though I am not in my homeland at the moment the news from there at present doesn't make me nervous it makes me nauseous. That leaves one question Who will be the one to serve up the Trump the poison in his dinner or cocktail and when will that happen???

I could never condone the assassination of an American President. That said, I am wondering how long it will take the members of his own party to turn against him and remove him from office.
If you homeland is in the Middle East, I can understand why what is coming out of the White House these days makes you physically ill.

@RasmaSandra I hope the politicians do something soon to shut him up and send him packing.

@DWDavis my homeland is the U.S. and just speaking of Trump and you mentioning people turning against him makes me think of Julius Caesar. Hopefully he will just be edged out somehow impeachment or something like that and that will be the end of that with not too much damage done but who knows. In way or another he is really asking for it.

@TheInvisibleMan Correcting the last eight years may not be pretty. But it must be done.

It makes me nervous for the world. As a minority and a woman, I was already nervous.
All I can say is I wonder how far he has to go before his party will attempt to curb him. I have given up on his stans (stalker fans) seeing anything close to reason as they have found excuses for every reprehensible thing he has ALREADY done.

@msiduri Impeachment isn't an immediate option, but, if The Exalted Orange One continues to show signs of coming unhinged, such as handing over power to people like Bannon The Banisher, the VP and his cabinet can inform Congress that he needs to be removed from office under the 25th Amendment, Section 4.

@DWDavis I wonder. I honestly haven't heard from a Trump supported on this issue. A few odd remarks now and again. One odd remark from a stranger on Facebook mentioned that this immigration ban will make the United States safe. I didn't bother responding. It was from a person who obviously had no memory of recent history and no understanding of how the ban works.
I've heard people screaming impeachment, but they don't understand that impeachment means to bring criminal charges against someone. One can't impeach a president simply because one despises that president.

@DWDavis I read Breitbart News , but I am not a racist or White Supremacist. Have you heard of one of their journalists, Milo Yiannapoulos? If you have heard of him, what do you think of him?

@LeaPea2417 I've heard a lot about Milo, and seen a few of his vids on FB, but haven't given him a lot of attention. I listen to Breitbart News on the Patriot station in the morning and alternate between that the Progress station. It is quite something to listen to the two different perspectives on the same issues.

The World According to Trump has gone off the deep end and slipping further and further back in time. Nervous - I have been for two years.

It would be ironic. And I agree, we need to stop forcing democracy on other nations and let them go on living under despots, dictators, warlords, and oppressors. They must like it, as they don't seem to be willing to do a darn thing to help free themselves of these tyrannical, maniacal, murderous leaders.

@Funkrocker In Bannon's case I think it is a cold calculus, what he wants to see Vs what he is willing to lose

We are supposed to be a country that believes in rule of law. Not rule of emotions.

Where do you get your facts? Where's the proof Bannon is a white supremacist? Do just like to slander people?
When you have no evidence at all. You must enjoy spreading lies, I guess.

If you read carefully, you will note I said "rumored to be." He certainly was willing to give the alt-right white supremacists movement positive airtime on Breitbart. Everything else in the post was gleaned from actual, reliable news sources, even if PDT doesn't want to accept them as such.
Or do you believe PDT putting wire tapping in quotes once during his diatribe on Twitter in which he accused his predecessor of tapping his wires at Trump Tower relieves the current President of all responsibility for Tweeting out false and misleading information, including that British Intelligence actually put the phone taps in place, and then claiming a finding that lawful surveillance of suspected foreign agent communications in which his campaign staff may have been prominently mentioned proves he was right that Obama illegally wire tapped his personal phones?

@DWDavis Intelligence agents leaked into to the media. Naming Trump and people who worked for him. That was and is illegal. Democrats supported this. Where's Obama? Let him call his Intelligence people to answer for their crimes. Unless you think they were doing what he wanted?

@Funkrocker The Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, a Republican, says it was lawful intelligence gathering. Him running to the White House with the info he received before sharing with his committee, and then giving it to the press, still before sharing it with his committee, is how the names got out.
Still, no one "tapped" PDT's "wires" at Trump Tower. The information was gathered as part of a lawful investigation into foreign nationals who may be intelligence agents of a foreign power. Does it bother you at all that so many of PDT's White House and Campaign staff were mentioned prominently and often by foreign spies?

Very nervous, but I'm of a nervous disposition anyway! It's scary that he is powerful enough to do things without consulting with others. :(
