Had to Clean

With my new found energy and feeling better I decided to clean the house. It was desperately needed. Just like when I go on vacation, no one was cleaning the house, much less its floors so everything got pretty gross looking. Layers among layers of dirt and dog hair all over the floors. So I put in my headphones, set my son up with his toys and food, and I set out to get the grime up.
I also cleaned the dishes and counter tops, the microwave, vacuumed the carpet because that was just caked with dog hair, and did a lot of picking up. For the floors in the kitchen which were the dirtiest I swept, vacuumed, and mopped. The kitchen alone took 2 and half hours because someone moved the mopping pads and I could not find them. Why they did that when I am the only one who mops, I have no clue. I guess I wasn't as annoyed about everything being left to me because my mother in law is actually working full time at H & R block which keeps her out of the house from 9am to 8pm so she is literally working all day. My father in law is basically at work from 5am to 3 or 4pm. They could have done cleaning over the weekend while we've been sick though. I won't put myself in a bad mood thinking of that now.
I wasn't in a bad mood while cleaning which was refreshing and I burned 1000 calories cleaning. I hadn't had breakfast just a cup of coffee but it helped me power through the cleaning. I didn't have lunch either because I finished cleaning around dinner time.
What was the longest time it took you to finish cleaning something? Why did it take you so long? Do you listen to music while cleaning?

@IvySaysHi My floors are vinyl but look like wood. Any spills seem to show up immediately.

It is a good use for energy. I also hope that I can get the energy I need to clean some stuff in the house too.

i remember when i ws a kid, my mother spent a little time in the hospital. when she got home i decided to help by mopping the floors, it was okay but it took almost all day for it to dry, i wasnt to keen yet on the idea of how to rinse the mop.

I wish we had a regular mop because then i wouldnt have used up so much time trying to find the mop pads. I may buy a regular mop with a bucket that has a strainer built in

@IvySaysHi - ive always liked keeping both around. i would use the mop pad for minor quick clean ups, easier than bringing out the whole bucket of water and mop.
