Rainbow

Believer sees a gift from God
The atheist, refraction
But both agree it's beautiful
And brings them satisfaction
Muslims, Jews and Catholics
All follow different leaders
But all can see the beauty of
The irises, the cedars
No matter what our differences
Of color, creed or race
The same breeze cools a sweaty brow
The same sun warms a face
As birdsong in the morning,
The cricket's chirp at night
Can bring woman and man alike
A sense of great delight
The rainbow should remind you that
We share our place of birth
A ribbon to tie a priceless gift:
Our precious planet, Earth.

Thank you--I agree, he needs it badly. Unfortunately, I kind of doubt he would be receptive to the message.

@AliCanary Do you know where the picture is from? It reminds me of some mountains I'm familiar with just Northeast of Glacier Park Montana.

@TheHorse - I got it from Pixabay, but if you follow the link to the Pixabay site, sometimes they give more information about the photo. It may very well say where it was taken.

@AliCanary There was a double rainbow behind our son and his wife for some of their wedding photos.

Thank you - I really wish people would see the similarities, rather than the differences, with other people.

Very nice poem; the rainbow is such a beautiful sight to see; as you said: it is a ribbon that ties our beautiful planet!

Thank you! It is always so remarkable to see one. It's the rarity that is so delightful, I guess!
