What You're Getting Incorrect About Trump's "Ban"

United States

For two days straight I've heard regular people reciting verbatim mainstream media talking points about Trump's temporary travel restrictions placed on seven different countries with Muslim majorities. It's getting to the point I'm disgusted that my fellow humans can allow themselves to be this brainwashed by corporate globalist media that literally admitted to shilling for Hillary Clinton. Some of the lies I've heard: - It's a Muslim ban (Truth: No. It's a restriction, and on nations, not religions. Christians, Jews and atheists/agnostics also have to meet X requirements to get in from these countries) - It will stop all Muslim people (Truth: No. There are tons of exemptions in this order that allow for all sorts of people to still travel) - It's unprecedented (Truth: No. Obama actually did it in 2011, when he placed a six-month travel restriction on Iraqi refugees) - It's not Constitutional (Truth: Yes, it is. America is a sovereign nation. The President has within his/her powers the choice on whom to restrict, and why; that's part of sovereignty) - It only targets innocent Muslim nations (Truth. No. It targets the seven nations that President OBAMA felt had ties to terrorism, and the top-10 Muslim nations on the planet are not on the list) Here's some truth bombs for you: - Fact 1: Trump only went farther with an Obama initiative to halt travel on those nations sympathetic and supportive of ISIS - Fact 2: Trump did this as a two-part plan. Nobody mentions the part where he got Saudi Arabia and other Muslim nations to support safe zones for refugees in their own culture, thus alleviating the West of the monumental burden of caring for culture-shocked people - Fact 3: Obama actually banned migrants from Muslim countries six separate times, and fewer than 0.001% of you on this site ever even knew about it, because mainstream media never reported it - Fact 4: Even with the 120-day order, the number of people taken in by America will eventually even out to be the same annually as all eight years under Obama (adjusting for his six separate bans) - Fact 5: Under section 3(g) of the executive order (which I've actually read), restrictions happen on a case-by-case basis, and a person's religion has nothing to do with the final decision; and, in fact, America will help those whose visas are blocked by other nations - Fact 6: Refugees perform horribly in the West. It's a culture shock. They don't speak the language. They have different immunities to disease. They have a different national religion. Fewer than 1% of Western refugees from Syria, Yemen, etc, have jobs; the other 99% live off the government. I.e. they are not doing well in the west at all - Fact 7: Canada's Justin Trudeau's plan is actually much harsher, because it singles out single men and refuses to let them into the nation. Even if it's the son, brother, cousin, etc, of a good family, if it's a single male, Canada permanently bans them; America may--not even necessarily, just may--halt them for 120 days - Fact 8: The only nations on earth that actually ban people due to religion include: Algeria, Malaysia, Oman, Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Syria, UAE, Yemen, Libya, and others. They ban based on religion; America's freezing--not "banning"--based on nationality. And guess what kind of countries they are? Muslim countries! - Fact 9: Most of the protests taking place aren't grassroots but are rather funded by George Soros, a billionaire who, during WWII, turned over Jews to the Nazis for execution If people don't like Trump, that's fine by me. I think he's an orange egomaniac who might end up rubbing some the wrong way. But don't allow mainstream media to lie to you about why you need to hate him. These facts are all on record, most of which are contained within the executive order or can be found by reading Obama's previous laws and orders. Dare to do something dangerous and think for yourself!

I agree. Especially if he's actually doing well. I do not know if Trump will be a good president. But I do know this: The refugee crisis has been waging on for years now. During that time, President Obama never once tried to leverage Muslim nations into taking care of the refugees. In one week as president, President Trump has not only tried that but succeeded at getting Muslim nations to help. I'm really not the type to run Obama down, but the guy was too busy playing golf; Trump's actually a mover and shaker.
