This is the first time in my life I don´t like the summer and the warm weather. The forest fires here are still uncontrolled and a lot of the richest part of the country is in flames.
For several days, we have has the biggest fire controlling aircraft in the world, part of the international help we have recieved. Yet the planes and helicopters can do nothing against the fire and the forest and towns are still burning.
The hot temperature and the wind does not help.
A mylot friend told me that he had heard on the news that it had rained. I wish! The drought and the dry straw does not help this situation.
It is a pleasure to turn to mylot after watching the news for another kind of stories. I want to thank the friends who have written private messages to me

We were in a drought situation for much of the summer. For the first time eve, when the marsh caught fire the fire department spent hours and mullions to get it out.
Usually they let it burn itself out, but it was so dry they felt that if it spread they would be helpless to keep it from causing a disaster.

This is a disaster. The fires have lasted for a month and they have not subsided.

I hope it rains there soon so that they can get things under control. It is so devastating to watch.

Ugh! I have never been a fan of summer. Forest fires make things worse. I have lived in Florida during times of forest fires.
