4 a.m and still have not slept

I am a long term severe chronic insomniac diagnosed with Primary Insomnia I, a neurological problem. It has really kicked in and it is 4 am. I still can not go to sleep. However, I use the time well, working on my sites while listening to the TV. I love the middle of the night. It is so quiet and still, even spiritual and mystical sometimes. I will get some sleep later on but probably not enough and I won't feel very well all day but then I will make it up Thursday or Friday night.

I knew of someone who is an author. He is said to have only a few hour sleep (2 or 3 hours) but he is okay and nothing wrong in regard to his health.

There are a lot of us who have odd sleep habits for whatever reason, Some people do not need much sleep. I do but can not always get it but I later make up for it. The other morning I slept until 11:30 a.m.

I'm sorry to hear that you weren't able to sleep. At least you managed to do a few things. Hopefully, you get to rest a little bit later.

I finally did get some sleep but could not do much the next day. Then I had two good sleeps the following nights. Now it is Sunday and it is going on 4:30 a.m and guess what, I am still up. but I know that I will sleep later,

I finally did get some sleep but could not do much the next day. Then I had two good sleeps the following two nights but now it is 4:15 a.m. on Sunday. I am very fatigued but can't sleep. Eventually, I will get some but lucky for me, I do not have to go anywhere although I did want to go to the gym. I won't be able to and may go Monday.

As long as you are not worried about you not being able to sleep, things will be just all right. The more worried you are, the more difficult it will be for you to go to sleep. Reading novels can be one of the things you can do while you are awake.

I used to get real stressed and upset about not being able to sleep but I have now relaxed about it. I know that I will eventually get some sleep and I know that I will have a long and deep sleep eventually. You are right in what you said. I watch TV and play on my computer until my brain relaxes and lets me sleep. It's a problem in my brain, I have an over active brain,

@bostonphil My daughter often stays up. It is because she cannot sleep quickly.

Well I used to sleep at 4am. Sometimes when I still have work I got 2 hours of sleep only. I can't sleep that well also. God bless. Eat and make sure you had your check up.

I'm sorry. I have been sick lately and cannot sleep at night-I don't like how I feel the next day from it at all. =( I hope you get some sleep soon.

I find it hard to sleep as well. I am catching a few hours here and there but certainly not enough.

I have insomnia too. Drinking ginger/turmeric tea with milk helped (but not advisable for pregnant and persons with heart ailment). Maybe music too.
