What sort of lightbulbs do you use? Do you use the cheapest or the most energy efficient?

LED lightbulbs are the most energy efficient but probably also the most expensive. I use primarily CFLS the squiggly one, which are also energy efficient. I also still have some incandescent bulbs hanging around in certain lights, because I don't use them very often, and the CFL's don't look good in them.

I've been trying to replace my ordinary bulbs with energy efficient ones. Some of my lights are high in the ceiling and hard to replace when they burn out. So, I figured it would be worth the cost to replace them with bulbs that will last a long time

I have that tract lighting in the kitchen the deep set bulbs that are kind of an offsize. I really probably need to go to Home Depot or Lowes and see what they offer.

@snowy22315 that's what kept happening with me. The kitchen lights kept burning out and I'd have to get my son in law to come over and change them so I replaced them with long lasting bulbs

CFLS last a long time as well. None of my CFL's have burnt out.

@snowy22315 I do not like fluorescent light, it gives me headache, it's too white and it always flicker a bit. Those kind of bulbs are no more sold here, since July of last year have all been replaced by LED.

We have been using the CFLS too but my husband has slowly been changing them all over to LEDs I don't really care, but he does.

I rarely go to a Home Depot or Lowes. I wonder if they sell them at Walmart.

my bulbs don't need to be repalced often except for the ones in the ceiling.

I was lucky and got given a whole lot of LED bulbs so I removed all of my energy efficient bulbs, and have placed in storage in case we need a spare for when the LED bulbs blow.

I really ought to go lightbulb shopping, but I found a pack of CFL's I didn't know I had...so really the kitchen lighting is all I need right now, plus I should get another light for the laundry room.

those squiggly things.but i've noticed they don't last as long as they claim.they're a pain in the butt to get rid of too..my state actually expects you to save them up and take them 35 miles away to the state landfill for recycle...yea,maybe if they pay for the gas i would..

The price of led has now gone down, we are now almost 100 % led in our home. Besides being energy efficient they emit less heat and do not contain dangerous mercury like cfls, they also last a very long time.
