Favorite book series

With everything that's going on in the world right now, I need a mental break sometimes. One of my favorite things to do is READ!! I love that I can step into another place and time and have an adventure without leaving the comfort of my home. My favorite series is the Pendergast series by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. Their stories are smart and have thrilling plot twists and turns but you aren't left feeling confused or let down. I think I've gone "WHOA!!" at least once reading each book. These are the guys that wrote "Relic" which was made into a movie. Of course, the books were much better. I love these books so much, I can't choose a favorite. Right now, I'm reading "Obsidian Chamber" and it's living up to expectation. Have you read any of the Pendergast/Preston & Child books? If so, which is your favorite? If not, what series do you love?

I don't have a particular series. Don't do much reading but my son likea audio books. He was listening to a series that sounded quite interesting. I can't remember what it was. The series you're reading sounds exciting! Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe they have in audio.

Sometimes in the states we can get audio versions of books at the library. That might be an option, @cmoneyspinner.

I'm sure they do have audio books somewhere. They've been writing together and separately for years now. I've never done the audio book thing, though. I'm old fashioned. I like the smell and feel of actual books. It's kind of therapy for me, I guess.

I read a few of that series, including Relic and The Reliquary. The others didn't really grab me though. I really like sci-fi and urban fantasy. If I'm getting away, I'm getting AWAY.

I really liked Reliquary too. I wish they would do a reboot of the Relic movie, maybe portray Pendergast more closely to how he was in the book. These are the books that need a movie series.

@AllyraeM if I recall correctly, he was described as almost looking albino and being somewhat eccentric, yes? Which actor could pull that look off.

I hadn't heard of them. It's good when you can get into a good book. I love to read as well, and have plans to read at least a book a month, in between writing them.

I have read a number of the Agent Pendergast novels. The most memorable entry was The Cabinet of Curiosities.
