I think my cat is addicted to television

My cat Sierra enjoys television. Whenever I say Sierra, "do you want to watch TV?", and if she does, she will jump onto the TV stand and sit in front of the television. Her favorite shows are generally Rat Tail Bandit, String Thing Game, and Sonic on Youtube. So the other day I had the Simpsons on, and on her own, she jumped up to watch it. The result?
Does anyone else have cats that love to watch TV? What are their favorite shows?

My cat is also fascinated by the TV and tries to catch the birds he sees flying in the sky. Before we had a flat screen TV, his favourite perch was on top of the set from where he could survey the room and (occasionally) watch the picture upside down.

Oh boy, if Sierra keeps sitting so close to the tv, she might hurt her eyes. Just kidding, I have no idea if cats eyes can be harmed in this manner or not. I truly believe that humans can ruin their vision by sitting too closely to the tv, computer screens or phone/tablet screens. My younger cousins watched tv for year only a foot or so away from the screen. Now they both wear thick glasses because their eyesight is so bad.

Nah, she's all right. The problem is contributed to watching too much of the screen, and not looking away to rest the eyes, according to this scientific report. No idea if I find it to be true or not. When I was a kid, I never sat too close to the TV, and we didn't own computers or tablets back then. Our TV was one of the old CRT ones back then. I inherited my parents' bad vision and wear contacts to this day.
It seems the worst effects are not on one's eyes, and may come from watching too much television, no matter what the distance to the screen

Thank you so much! We have six cats here, two sisters, two brothers, and two more non-related females. Four of them are rescues. The two sisters are not rescues, the two boys, and the other two females are all rescues. Sierra has been watching TV since I first brought her home from an abandoned warehouse about two years ago.

@Firestorm0122 I have 14; all rescues. It's funny how they all have different personalities.

That is so cool. My cat occasionally will glance at the TV. She mostly naps or looks out the window.

I bet your kitty gets entertained quite often from the action outside the window!

@Hannihar She doesn't run off? Our cats try to take off. I was only able to leash train one of them. He loves going for walks.

Author-LIssa,
She loves to look out and when the weather is nice she is on the porch sitting and looking down on all that goes on around her.

No idea. I know she doesn't watch just any show, only the ones that have music, or some form of action. I'm sorry you're allergic. :( I'm allergic myself, but my medication helps me, thankfully.

Meow from Huckleberry the Cat,
I could care less about Human TV. I like KittyTV. Unfortunately, my human moved my couch away from the window, so it's harder to watch the Front Yard Channel now.
