The funeral

I know, I haven't been on really any this last week.
You can certainly understand why I might be depressed.
A plot was found on Wednesday. A family who had recently lost a loved one, had decided to donate a spot for someone who couldn't afford a grave.
I met the priest at the cemetery and paid for what was over and above the cost. I had just the day before paid my property taxes, and with this, it left me considerably poorer.
The following day the funeral home delivered the coffin to the church. Between the time we met at the cemetery and the next morning, the temperature had dropped 40 degrees.
However, since they hadn't embalmed Connie, this was a good thing.
I stayed while they did the first part of the service, and then they were going to chant psalms all night. I left when they were going to start that.
I got there the next morning before they started the rest of the service.
A cousin and a couple of friends also came. After the service, we went to the cemetery.
After the service there, the cousin and I went to eat lunch.
I have to say, that unless your religion doesn't believe in embalming, don't keep the body out for a week, even refrigerated it isn't exactly what you expect...

It is really nice that someone was able to donate a plot. Most we know want to be cremated or buried immediately. Not sure that is always better, but that is what some prefer.
