Do we get hardened up as we grow older

It's not that I don't want to fall in love
It's just that I still remember how did that blow on my cheek feel
Bruises took forever to heal
It's not that I don't like the comfort of the sleep
It's just that millions thoughts keep me awake
It's my heart once again on stake
It's not that I can't count on you
It's the fear that if I always walk along with you
I will forget how to walk without you
So it's not that I like to be in storm
When I could be safe and warm at home
It's just that unlike good days rough times don't decieve me

I envy those who can still let feelings penetrate them .

We don't get harder, we learn to roll with what life gives us.
