When we were kids we would see this candy man as we called him peddling around. The sound of his voice was like music to our ears. All neighbours’ kids got together and bought the stuff. Looking at the size I always thought it would fill me up but it barely did that. The joy of eating it and sharing it around provided enough happiness. I always thought it stuck around my face as I was eating it but that was just a feeling. The best place to eat it is when is at the beach. The crowd around makes this activity all the more pleasing. I remember going for fairs where the ‘candy man’ made his presence felt. I always marvelled at the machine that produced candy floss. Feel like having one just now!! Care to join me?

@allknowing That I know the rule makes it easy for you, doesn't it? I would say cotton candy was the more popular name in Kerala.By the way, when was the last time you tasted candy floss?

@marguicha Being old is no reason I guess but your insuline problem could be a better reason to stay away.

When my child was little, I ever thought about buying a candy floss machine at home so that we could make it anytime. But in another hand I thought it was not so good to have candy all the time, then I gave up to buy it. It is nice to have the candy floss, but my son is not very interested in it since he says it is easy to make her hands sticky.

I know we get a feeling that it gets stuck on our face which is not true but just a feeling but unless one touches it the hand will not get sticky.

@allknowing I thought you are going to share with me... Do I have to pay for the candy floss? In that case, no thank you. I just remember, my mum said that it is not good for our teeth...

If we were at the Fair I would gladly join you and all others that might want to join in too. I liked the smell of it more than anything it made me hungry and want to eat something more than that. But I have eaten it a lot and like it.

True! That was one of my happy moments when I was little. My mom will buy me that after we went to church. But she bought me ice cream after school everyday.

We call it cotton candy. I used to get them at fairs and carnivals when I was a child, but they don't appeal to me anymore. However, my grandson would love to join you!

Those used to be church fairs. Each parish had their annual feast and that used to be a big event.
