Gender equality

Does Jesus Christ in the Bible supports gender equality or preaches submission of the female gender to the male folks? If he does support gender equality how come all his twelve disciples are males and no female.hmmm! Thinking!!

Maybe its because the bible was written by a bunch of sexist men.... Even as an atheist I think what you are implying is rude to any of the christians out there who believe in equality

Good a thing you're an atheist,so that means the biblical teachings don't apply to you.But the Bible made it clear in the new testament that the man is the head over the woman.but the basic principles of God towards man and woman is this,The woman should be submissive to her husband and the husband love his wife. The reason for most divorce in the western world is a diversion of this biblical principles in marriage. When a man refuse to love his wife by doing his obligations as the husband and not cheating on his wife, that marriage is sure to last and when the wife learns to obey and be submissive to her husband without advocating for equality that marriage will last.

@ambrosiaswchatz God is a wise God.He created a woman for a specific purpose and until women come to understand that purpose they will always feel like the lesser humans

@Tgijo27 Biblical teachings don't have to apply to anyone rather you are religious or not... a good christian wouldn't value someones life over another... if you believe it's alright to treat women like lesser humans than youre the one whose f*cked up

most religious books make women 2nd class citizens. That's why they're outdated in 2017.

Not much has changed in the middle east as far as woman having gender equality. I however think that you make a good point but I think there were female disciples but because they were woman they probably were left out of the book.
