Smartphones: Do you think children should use them?

I have nothing against it, as long as everything is very controlled.
The problem isn't the technology that is available (sooner or later the children will have contact with it), but rather the misuse of it (and this isn't restricted to children ).
The world is becoming more technological day by day, so... Humans have to follow the trend.

My children are with me all the time there is no reason for then to need cell phones. They can use our computer to chat with friends. My daughter does have a tablet but that doesn't cost me a monthly cell phone bill. I am using the internet often and most of it is here at mylot.

They should use. It is a useful tool. Children should use it for calling, sending messages and learning.

Depends of kids'age but even though might receive a smart one it's better to use it for their personal growth to develop their imagination creativity and not for another purposes

Smartphone s can be addictive, probably because of the newest games on it. Children has a lot to learn in life, smartphone shouldn't be an hindrance. Improper use of smartphone by the adult is making them unproductive, they cannot think anymore, and this is making the present generation useless, except for the few ones that can control it.
