I'm all matcha'ed out!

# 56 There's a new Japanese variety store just opened nearby and I ventured inside to take a look what kind of interesting stuff they would have... They seemed to have a good variety of items ranging from pet items, household items, stationery, cosmetics, and food/drinks in a not so big of a store... In the food section, I saw in almost any kind of snacks available there would be a typical matcha or Japanese green tea flavor. There was some matcha kitkats, matcha-flavored candy, cookies, crackers, and some matcha drinks as well... I didn't get carried away at all and only bought the biscuit sticks and drink powder sachets to try out. They're not too bad, but I wouldn't have too much of them at once. Just having two of them together was enough to turn me all green...

Is it like a Daiso store - everything is $1.50 - we have some of those here. :) Matcha is super trendy, but I have never liked it. I do want to try the Pocky!

Yeah, my sister mentioned Daiso might be similar when I sent her a video of me walking around the store... USD 1.50 would be around AUD 2... Oh, then I believe the stuff are more expensive down here since I think most items are around AUD 3 and the cosmetics are even more expensive. I'd recommend the Pocky more than the powder drink... It's just super green...

@sishy7 Yes it may be like a Daiso there =) They have neat , and cute things! But I try not to buy too much so I have so much clutter as is but sometimes I can't help it! Heheh.

@infatuatedbby What have you bought there? I saw the stationery range had some cute designs that I wouldn't find in just a regular office supply store. But I had more will power to just look around than you so I didn't buy anything except the Pocky and the matcha powder drink...

@salonga No wonder... You should try other green tea, not Jasmine green tea, and maybe you'll like it...

I like the normal brewed green tea leaves... I've even tried and enjoyed Genmaicha - it's Japanese green tea combined with roasted brown rice. I think Jasmine tea tastes and smells like flowers...

Oh no, you're green .... ummm, not sure if that's a good or bad thing. Well, on second thought it must be a good thing, I went green years ago but that had to do with being environmentally friendly.

They are almost always in every little corner Asian store here... The matcha flavor is not very common though, the chocolate and strawberry flavors are easy to find...

I am not interested in matcha flavor. I prefer to other flavors much more. But today people may think matcha stuffs are healthier

This is the first time I read about Matcha and did some search. They are talking about it as though it is elixir
The health benefits of matcha tea exceed those of green tea because when you drink matcha you ingest the whole leaf, not just the brewed water. One cup of

What I like about Japanese meals is how they serve the dishes. They have cute tableware and it's like they have separate little serving dish for each item like the soup, the salad, the rice, the meat, the condiments, etc...

@LadyDuck I also like how they are served in small portions... More appetizing to me than a huge serving of food all in one plate.
