So I know me going into labor was totally unexpected this early. It was for us too! I ate an amazing dinner my husband cooked for us on Thursday evening-it was eggs & bacon.
After dinner we watched a movie and I started literally shaking and not feeling good at all. . I thought something was wrong with Josiah possibly or I had an infection or something. So we went to the hospital-I honestly didn't think I was in labor yet! My water didn't break and I wasn't having contractions... It was strange. Lol.
Anyway...Josiah and I are doing well. He doesn't really want to eat yet so the doctors are hoping he will eat more as the day goes on. He hasn't even had 2 ounces since he's been born. 
We will be able to go home tomorrow as long as Josiah starts eating. Everything else with him looks good.

Yes, I was surprised at his sudden birth because he was not due yet. However, as long as you are both doing well, that is what counts. I do hope his appetite increases.

He's adorable, I see a resemblance between him and Julian's baby pictures.
In a day and age where everything is so calculated and timed, its good to be reminded that babies come when babies are ready to come!
That is what I was always told, and I think that you'd have to agree with this old saying now.
I'm glad that he's healthy, and hopefully he will start to eat later on today so that you can return home, as I'm sure that is really where you'd rather be.
Have the other kids met him yet?

He is eating more now so I'm happy about that. The kids met him today and they love him very much!

@JudyEv I know! I never thought I was having him yesterday! I thought I had more time and it didn't feel like labor... It was very weird.

He is probably surviving so far on those eggs & bacon and not hungry for more yet

Well it's good he came a bit early, so you don't have to worry any more. He looks very alert for a newborn. I kinda think he will be a pistol!

That's kind of how I felt when I went in to be induced with my oldest. Weird, isn't it?
I'm glad to hear you're both doing well. Do they usually keep you so long, or is it just because he's not eating as well as they'd like him to? Seems weird since the hospitals here sent me home the very next day after my C-sections... then again, I'm a horrible patient so maybe they were just sick of dealing with me.
